In the last few weeks, we have been able to talk to training officers and educators from around the world at EMS World Expo and the National Association of EMS Educators. When training officers and educators stop at our exhibit hall booth, the top questions they ask about the CentreLearn learning management system and its built-in library of courses for firefighters, paramedics, and EMTs are:
1. How many courses are available?
The CentreLearn course library features more than 220 courses that are divided into portfolios of:
- EMS courses for advanced providers
- EMS courses for basic providers
- Workplace health and safety courses
- Firefighter continuing education courses
CentreLearn organizations can also add content from our partners at 24-7 Fire and EMS, Emergency Film Group, HIPAA TV Online, and Physio-Control University.

2. Are the courses CECBEMS approved?
All CentreLearn EMS (advanced and basic) and workplace health and safety courses are CECBEMS accredited. CECBEMS accreditation is provided by the University of Maryland-Baltimore County and requires us to submit for each course:
- Course learning objectives
- Quiz questions for each objective
- References used to construct the course
- Qualifications of the course instructor
- Methodology for course delivery, record keeping, and answering user questions
3. Who creates the CentreLearn courses?
CentreLearn courses are written by subject matter experts with substantial field and teaching experience in the course material. Each course is designed to meet a set of learning objectives and be current with industry standards. All EMS courses are reviewed by a board certified emergency medicine physician. Firefighter courses are reviewed by fire service education experts.
